Trumpf is focusing on more productive 3D printing systems at the Formnext 2024 trade fair. To this end, the TruPrint 3000 has been equipped with an integrated cooling system for the build platform and the laser power of the two fiber lasers has been increased to 700 watts.

Two 700 watt lasers with automatic position correction (Automatic Multilaser Alignment, AMA) in combination with integrated cooling ensure efficient series production and stronger components on the TruPrint 3000 3D printer. "The TruPrint 3000 is designed for the series production of high-quality components. Users from all sectors, such as the automotive and aerospace industries, benefit from this," says Roland Spiegelhalder, Product Manager Additive Manufacturing at Trumpf. The high-tech company is presenting the 3D printer at the leading trade fair for additive manufacturing Formnext in Frankfurt.

TruPrint 3000 prints stronger components with integrated cooling

In the TruPrint 3000, a system monitors the process chamber and ensures a constant temperature. This allows the 3D printer to use the full laser power of 700 watts without the material overheating during the printing process. This is particularly important for aluminum alloys, for example. The integrated cooling system also allows the material to cool down more quickly. This ensures stronger components and a high level of reproducibility, meaning the machine prints the same part in the same quality time and time again. Industries such as the automotive industry benefit from this because they can use the TruPrint 3000 to print parts in series that can withstand a crash. Thanks to the increase in laser power to 700 watts, Trumpf has been able to enlarge the machine's two laser spots from 80 to 200 µm using special optics. This allows the lasers to process a larger area on the build plate. "This increases the productivity of the system while maintaining the same high component quality," says Spiegelhalder.
