The DFO is modernizing the Electrocoating Forum 2026

In September 2026, the DFO will host the 11th edition of the Electrodeposition Coating Forum. The format has been updated and is designed to facilitate discussion among participants.
Electrocoating is and will remain a key technology for modern corrosion protection. This makes professional dialogue on current challenges, innovative solutions, and proven best practices all the more important. This is precisely where the Electrocoating Forum of the German Research Association for Surface Treatment (DFO) comes in on September 15 and 16, 2026, at Ebbtron in Solingen—albeit with a fundamentally revised concept. Under the motto “Same Name – New Thinking – New Format,” the event is moving away from traditional lecture marathons and instead focusing on interaction, practical relevance, and direct dialogue between users, plant operators, and suppliers. The focus is on real-world practical experience, open discussions, and formats that promote active exchange.
Platform for Electrocoating
Participants can expect not a lecture-style format, but a platform where concrete questions from everyday ETL practice are discussed, such as during the interactive panel talks on the topics of AI implementation and digitalization, as well as the calculation of coating costs. Keynote presentations will facilitate an introduction to the topics. On the second day, various workshop stations will be set up. At these stations, participants will gain insights from experts on various topics and issues. The main topics will be corrosion testing, plant hygiene, “proper testing,” and knowledge transfer. The two-day DFO event, the Electrocoating Forum, will be rounded off with a tour of the paint and electrocoating manufacturer Axalta Coating Systems Germany GmbH & Co. KG in Wuppertal.
