Technical Vocational College Solingen: Open day

The Technische Berufskolleg Solingen (TBK) is holding its open day on November 15, 2024 from 12:00 to 15:30. The vocational college trains students to become surface coaters, among other things.
At the open day at TBK Solingen, the new electroplating center of the vocational college can be visited, among other things. It was officially unveiled on September 27, 2024, at the annual Electroplating Day. The numerous guests included Lord Mayor Tim Kurzbach and ZVO Chairman Jörg Püttbach. With the construction of the new technical center and the renovation of the associated training and laboratory building, the TBK is the most modern training location in Germany for surface technology. The total investment amounts to 18 million euros. 5.65 million euros were invested in the technical center alone, which is at the heart of the electroplating center. Here, prospective surface coaters will find state-of-the-art equipment and the best conditions for learning their profession.
In addition to further and advanced training courses, surface coaters and electroplating technicians from the federal states north of the River Main in particular are trained here. There are currently 143 trainees from 87 companies. The training content is not only taught in theory, but is also deepened in the new chemistry/analytics laboratory and finally put into practice in the new electroplating shop. The electroplating center also hosts master craftsman examinations as well as Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Chamber of Crafts examinations. This close integration of training and further education with the companies means that the entire industry benefits from the training center. At the open day of the Solingen Technical Vocational College on November 15, visitors can find out about the training courses and clarify any questions in a personal discussion.
