M. Swarovski GmbH is expanding its plant in Neufurth/Amstetten and creating new jobs in the region. The world's most modern production facility for micro glass beads is gearing up for the future - and is targeting new applications such as glass bead blasting.

The newly built M. Swarovski plant near Amstetten/Austria is considered to be the world's most modern production facility for reflex glass beads. Now, after just three years, the Swarco Global Glass Beads Technology Center, as the site in Neufurth is called, is starting the first expansion phase to secure its leading position. The planned expansion is a targeted investment in order to be successful in future markets and will create new jobs in the region. Until now, the small glass beads have mainly been produced as reflectors to make road markings clearly visible at night. However, the micro glass beads can also be used for industrial applications - including as filling, blasting or filter material. It is precisely this business area, summarized under the name Swarco Indusferica, that the company now wants to further strengthen with the expansion in Neufurth. The aim is to secure the site for the future with a second strong pillar.

"We want to secure and further expand Neufurth as a location for innovation in the long term. Our clear goal is to make our company more resilient, more sustainable and more attractive for skilled workers," emphasize the two Managing Directors Andreas Illich and Konstantin Niederer in unison. The planning and preparations have been completed so that nothing stands in the way of the ground-breaking ceremony for the new facilities in a few days' time. In addition to new production capacities, this investment will also create highly qualified jobs in development, technology and production, as Andreas Illich and Konstantin Niederer emphasize: "M. Swarovski GmbH offers skilled workers the opportunity to become part of a growing industry of the future and to actively participate in the design of innovative products. Anyone who sees their professional future in a dynamic, future-oriented environment will discover exciting prospects with us in Neufurth."
