SurTec will be demonstrating how current challenges in the electroplating and surface technology industry can be translated into marketable innovations with two specialist presentations and practical solutions at the ZVO Surface Days 2025.

SurTec's presentations at the ZVO Surface Days 2025 will focus on a new process for chromium(VI)-free plastic pretreatment and a holistic approach to the functional optimization of complex coating systems. At stand 70, the SurTec team of experts is also looking forward to a professional exchange at eye level.

In the presentation "Chromium(VI)-free plastic pretreatment - On the way to industrial series production", Dr. Sven Neudeck (SurTec International) and Marvin Wagner (BIA Kunststoff- und Galvanotechnik) will report on the application of a chromium trioxide-free process based on permanganate. The focus is on concrete implementation in the electroplating line. A new process was established together with Okuno Chemical Industries Co, Ltd (Japan). The combination of permanganate, silver and palladium enables an adhesive, selective metal deposition - a possible path to industrial series production. In the second presentation, "Functionalization of surfaces, part 2", Dr. Christine Rohr (SurTec International GmbH) will build on her presentation from the previous year and delve deeper into the question of how modern coating systems can be adapted to growing functional requirements. The focus is on holistic analysis: only if all requirements are first clearly recorded and assigned to all partners involved can targeted influence be exerted in the relevant process steps. The article shows how robust, multifunctional surfaces are created in this way - be it for corrosion protection, electrical conductivity or targeted visual effects.

At stand 70, SurTec's team of experts will offer the opportunity for professional exchange and in-depth dialog. Among other things, the SurTec 851 process, an innovative nickel technology for decorative applications with the highest demands on design, reproducibility and process reliability, will be presented. The focus will also be on the chromium(VI)-free decorative process SurTec 886, which produces dark bluish chromium(III) coatings.
