Stüken marked the start of the construction of a state-of-the-art electroplating plant in the Rinteln-Süd industrial area with a ground-breaking ceremony on June 17, 2025. The internationally active family business is investing around 29.5 million euros in the expansion of its technological portfolio.

The new electroplating plant at Hubert Stüken GmbH & Co KG is currently one of the largest and most challenging electroplating projects in Europe and is one of the most significant projects in the company's history. "It exemplifies the courage and entrepreneurial vision that has always characterized Stüken," emphasized Dr. Uwe Krismann, CEO. In particular, he thanked the shareholders and the Advisory Board for their support in economically challenging times. "In a phase of declining industrial production in Germany, such an investment is by no means a matter of course." Stüken welcomed numerous invited guests to the event, including Schaumburg's District Administrator Jörg Farr, Rinteln's Mayor Andrea Lange, architects, specialist planners, representatives of the press and members of the works council, the project team, the shareholders, the advisory board and managers. The ground-breaking ceremony was the official highlight of the event, which also provided an opportunity to look back on the progress of the project to date. Right from the start, the major project was characterized by targeted, cooperative collaboration between the city, district, authorities, specialist planners and the Stüken project team - the original schedule could even be shortened by around six months.

New Stüken plant for electroplating and chemical processes

"With this investment, we are creating the basis for pioneering solutions in the field of surface technology," explained Dr. Krismann. "The new electroplating facility will cover an area of around 5,000 m2. It is a central component of our transformation strategy. The aim is to offer innovative, integrated and sustainable deep-drawing solutions." The new facility is designed for electroplating and chemical processes that specifically expand Stüken's existing deep-drawing expertise with regard to technical surfaces. This involves thin and multi-layer systems for electrical contacts, for corrosion protection systems, for finishing, such as anodizing, but also electrochemical polishing or the pickling of titanium components. Target markets include electromobility, medical technology, sensor technology and energy technology. Stüken is also setting standards in terms of sustainability: operations will be largely CO₂-neutral - with photovoltaics, heat pumps and heat recovery. The new electroplating facility will meet the highest standards of environmental protection, occupational safety and fire safety, as well as modern intralogistics. Commissioning is planned for the second half of 2027, with around 15 employees working in the new area at the start. Stüken is a leading global supplier of precision deep-drawn metal parts.
