Sika: New laminate coating for collection trays and rooms

With Sikafloor VEL, Sika is launching a dissipative laminate coating based on vinyl ester resin for WHG-compliant collection trays and rooms. The system is highly chemically resistant, crack-bridging and economical to apply.
With Sikafloor VEL, Sika Deutschland CH AG & Co KG is expanding its portfolio in the area of water protection with a dissipative laminate system based on vinyl ester resin. The coating is designed for lining catch basins and sumps in accordance with the Water Resources Act and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Monostyrene-free, crack-bridging, highly chemically resistant and electrostatically dissipative, Sikafloor VEL fulfills the relevant WHG requirements for the safe handling of substances hazardous to water. The system can be used for the storage of liquids and as a flooring and sealing solution in sensitive industrial areas and completely replaces the previous SikaCor VEL system.
Laminate coating for sumps and rooms
In addition to the well-known system performance, Sikafloor VEL offers additional economic and logistical advantages for commercial processors. The extended shelf life of the system components facilitates storage and planning, while the low-odour and AgBB-compliant formulation enables use without restricting ongoing production processes. The laminate system is characterized by optimized workability, high mechanical and chemical resistance as well as permanent crack bridging and is designed as a DIBt-approved solution for demanding applications. Typical areas of application include electroplating plants, pickling plants and systems in which oxidizing media are processed or stored.
