The Sensor + Test trade fair, the central platform for the sensor and measurement technology industry, will once again open its doors in Nuremberg from June 9 to 11, 2026. It offers manufacturers and trade visitors a stage for innovations, technical discussions and networking.

The organizers are once again expecting more than 300 exhibitors from numerous countries at Sensor + Test this year, showcasing a wide range of products from sensor technology to AI solutions. The trade fair is impressively defying the current economic situation: even if the stand areas are smaller in some cases, the exhibitors remain loyal to the trade fair. This is because they can present their innovations here, enter into direct dialog with trade visitors and make valuable contacts for the future. "It's not the size of the stand that matters, but the quality of the technology and the professional exchange," emphasizes Elena Schultz, Managing Director of AMA Service GmbH. Especially in economically challenging times, the trade fair offers a central location for innovation dialog, where manufacturers, users and scientists come together to jointly advance solutions and set trends. Sensor + Test thus shows that the industry is investing, networking and actively shaping the path to the future despite all the challenges.

Sensors and measurement technology as the basis for AI in industry

Sensors and measurement technology form the basis for artificial intelligence in the industry - without precise measurement data, intelligent automation will not work, as is increasingly the case in surface technology, for example in coating thickness measurement. At Sensor + Test, this will be visible in a wide range of applications: companies will show how their sensors, measuring systems and testing technologies act as "data suppliers" for industrial AI solutions and make processes more efficient, safer and more economical. AI in industry means much more than large language models. It is about industrial systems that work in practice - in self-learning robots, in predictive maintenance, in simulation-supported development or in intelligent production control. Industrial AI not only enables the optimization of processes and the use of resources, but also opens up new data-based business models and strengthens cooperation between companies, research and technology providers.
