Sata's Look Back at Automechanika 2026: Special Editions and Robotics
At this year’s Automechanika, two very special experts could be seen using Sata spray guns: Alex Bloch, better known under the name Stilbruch Lack—and Jetstream, the robot from Sata Automation, which made its debut in front of an international audience.
At the Sata booth at Automechanika 2026, two special editions were initially on display: the Jet X Basecoat Edition and the Clearcoat Edition. The two spray guns are designed for their specific applications and feature a nozzle range tailored for base coat or clear coat, respectively. According to the manufacturer, the two new models have also been further refined in key technical details. Another special edition that made a big splash at Automechanika was the Jet X by Stilbruch. Visitors to the Sata booth could see the creator of this limited-edition special model in action right there: Alex Bloch designed an art car in his signature cartoon style right before the eyes of the trade show attendees.
Jetstream Robotics Solution at Automechanika
Right next door, there was another debut to marvel at: the Jetstream robotic solution from Sata Automation was presented to a large international audience of industry professionals for the first time. In regular live demos, Jetstream demonstrated what automation in automotive refinishing can look like. The turnout was huge—as was the interest in discussion. Conversations often centered on human-robot collaboration—and, of course, on the question of what investments are involved in adopting this technology. Sata looks back on the five days of the trade show with great satisfaction. Especially for the still-emerging field of automation, the trade show was likely more of a kickoff than a one-time event.
