Testing for decoatability - Kunststoff-Institut expands portfolio

The Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid is expanding its portfolio by testing the coating removal properties of finished plastics. Since this year, tests in accordance with DIN SPEC 91496 have been carried out to evaluate the complete removal of coatings.
The demands placed on finished surfaces are constantly increasing - whether in the automotive industry, medical technology, household appliances or packaging. Since this year, the Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid has been carrying out tests in accordance with DIN SPEC 91496 to evaluate the complete removal of coatings - a decisive step for material recycling. Surface testing for coatings
In addition, a wide range of surface tests for coatings on a wide variety of materials such as plastic, glass, steel or wood are carried out. The tests carried out by the Lüdenscheid Plastics Institute include abrasion and scratch resistance, adhesion, soiling behavior and cleanability. All tests are carried out in accordance with applicable standards and can be individually adapted to the requirements of each company.
