In a process developed by Ultratec, components can be ultrasonically deburred in a process water tank in a process-safe and energy-efficient manner. The company is presenting its process at this year's DeburringExpo.

In the process developed by Ultratec, components are guided in a process water basin to the high-frequency ultrasonic sonotrode. Stimulated by a generator, it oscillates back and forth 20,000 times per second over 0.1 millimeter. These generated oscillations move burrs and fibers back and forth until they break off with sharp edges in a process-safe manner. Users can easily dispose of the process water without further treatment.

Compared to conventional methods, ultrasonic deburring is the only process that can be fully automated, almost independent of materials, contact-free, energy-efficient and in a process that can be validated. The targeted process control enables selective deburring on individual edges or cross holes. The range of components to be machined extends from micro parts for the optics or watchmaking industry to precision tools for machining and elements weighing 15 kilograms, as required in mechanical engineering or vehicle construction. Ultratec Innovation GmbH will be represented at DeburringExpo 2023 at booth 218.
