Preventing occupational accidents with training from Dräger

Personal protective equipment (PPE) can prevent accidents at work. However, it is important to learn how to use it. The Dräger Academy offers seminars, training courses and workshops on the use of PPE.
When it comes to occupational safety, the "human factor" plays a decisive role: 80 percent of occupational accidents or near misses are attributable to human behavior, according to an analysis by DEKRA. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is designed to protect people from health hazards at their workplace and prevent them from accidents, injuries and illnesses. However, the use of PPE must be practiced. "Mistakes can start when choosing the right respirator and continue when wearing it. Everyone who wears respiratory protection should have a sound background knowledge," explains Manuel Hornberger, technical trainer at the Dräger Academy.
Training can significantly reduce the risk of human error at work. The Dräger Academy offers seminars, training courses and workshops in various areas from PPE training to emergency respiratory protection training. Three revised training courses with an improved look and didactics for "Persons wearing respiratory protection equipment in accordance with DGUV G. 312-190 for filtering or insulating respiratory protection as well as escape equipment and self-rescuers", for "Instructed persons for portable gas detectors in accordance with T021/T023" and for "Clearance measurement of containers and confined spaces in accordance with DGUV G. 313-002" teach important basics for handling PPE. The training courses can be completed in person and now also as web-based training or blended learning courses. This allows them to be flexibly integrated into everyday working life. In blended learning, participants first learn the theoretical content online via a presentation with spoken texts, images, videos and interactive elements. This is followed by a practical part in the presence of small groups of a maximum of 12 people.
