PPG introduces powder primer series for high-performance corrosion protection

PPG has announced the launch of the PPG Envirocron Primeron primer powder portfolio, which provides high corrosion resistance for metal substrates such as steel, hot-dip galvanized steel, metallized steel and aluminum.
"Protective primers are the first measure to protect metal surfaces from corrosion - the biggest challenge in the metal coatings industry," says Lorenzo Soldavini, PPG Technical Manager Powder, EMEA, Industrial Coatings. "Using PPG Envirocron Primeron in a multi-coat system provides optimal corrosion protection and is key to extending the life of a product and maintaining its structural integrity." The PPG Envirocron Primeron primer powder portfolio has been tested according to corrosivity categories and approved by the QUALISTEELCOAT international quality label for coated steel.
The range covers a variety of requirements depending on the end application, operating environment and substrate used: PPG Envirocron Primeron ZINC is a zinc-based primer that provides strong corrosion protection. PPG Envirocron Primeron PRO is a solid primer for strong corrosion protection regardless of the pretreatment method. It offers good mechanical properties as well as a balanced property profile. PPG Envirocron Primeron EDGE primer provides first-class corrosion protection for substrates with sharp edges. It is optimized for outgassing substrates. PPG Envirocron Primeron FLEX primer provides excellent corrosion protection for various substrates, including aluminum and various pretreatment methods. "At PPG, we focus on differentiated innovation and sustainability to create value for our customers," said Anne Banuls, PPG Powder Coatings business manager, EMEA, Industrial Coatings. "The PPG Envirocron Primeron powder primer series expands our offering of customized solutions for durable corrosion protection for metal substrates."
