Plantag Coatings opens new production facility in Detmold

Plantag Coatings has opened a state-of-the-art production facility for coating technologies in Detmold. The production of high-performance, radiation-curing coating systems takes place on over 2,500 square meters.
Plantag Coatings GmbH's new production facility offers an impressive stirring capacity of up to 35,000 liters per shift and can be operated in multi-shift mode if required. Ten dissolvers of different sizes ensure flexible and efficient production. Thanks to a storage capacity of 240,000 liters for binders in eight stainless steel tanks and an additional additive tank farm of 20,000 liters, the new plant is ideally designed for the manufacture of large production volumes. "The new production facility in Detmold is an important step for Plantag Coatings to meet the growing demands of the market and at the same time fulfill the highest quality and efficiency standards. With this investment, we are further expanding our capacity to produce innovative coating solutions and can respond even more specifically to individual customer requirements," says Managing Director Hanno Baumann.
Both UV-curing and water-based coating systems are produced in the new production facility. Production is semi-automated using a modern MES system for production control, which guarantees consistently precise and reliable production. The integration of a tugger train also enables direct connection to other raw material warehouses, further increasing efficiency and flexibility. Plantag is proud to comply with all water and hazardous materials permits for production at the new facility and emphasizes the importance of a safe and environmentally friendly production process. Another feature of the plant is the pre-heating of selected raw materials in special heating chambers, which ensures even more efficient processing.
