OTH Oberflächentechnik Hagen Receives Aerospace Certification
OTH Oberflächentechnik Hagen has achieved EN 9100:2018 certification for the highly sensitive aerospace and defense sector. With this achievement, the family-owned company based in North Rhine-Westphalia is further advancing its specialization.
The certification process for the EN 9100:2018 quality management standard is demanding. It includes ongoing employee training, internal reviews, mandatory audits of suppliers, and a multi-stage final audit. The certifiers scrutinize the applicant in detail. To avoid potential risks—such as misunderstandings, deviations, or counterfeits—well-established and actively implemented processes are a fundamental requirement. OTH Hagen has cleared all hurdles.
OTH Oberflächentechnik Has Been Active in the Aviation Industry for Years
“For us, EN 9100:2018 is another logical step toward quality and specialization,” say Katharina and Udo Gensowski from the executive board. “Our motivation is to continue on this path as specialists. The certification makes our potential and specialized knowledge more visible to the outside world. We are listed in the global OASIS database and are easier to find for potential new customers in the aerospace supply industry and among OEMs.” The company has been serving the aerospace supply industry for years. This, too, was a prerequisite for the certification. OTH Hagen has also been ISO 9001-certified for a long time—which served as the basis for the EN 9100 certification. In the pre-audits, OTH had already achieved a high success rate and had very few nonconformities, thanks to its many years of industry experience. Ongoing training and audits will continue to be part of the program in the future. This is the only way to ensure that work is consistently maintained at the high standard required by EN 9100.
