NOF Metal Coatings introduces new zinc flake coatings

Exomet 100 is a new low-temperature zinc flake coating that NOF Metal Coatings is presenting at SurfaceTechnology Germany 2026. The patented alcohol-water-based zinc flake coating has been developed for very low curing temperatures. It is ideal for precision components where higher curing temperatures could lead to deformation or impair material properties, as well as for large welded structures. The main features include excellent corrosion protection, tested up to 700-2,500 h, the self-healing effect in the event of mechanical damage (e.g. stone chips) and no hydrogen embrittlement (non-electrolytic process). Exomet 100 is PFAS-free, chrome-free and REACH-compliant and has a metallic silver appearance, which is also suitable for visible components. Typical industries are automotive, agricultural and construction machinery, infrastructure, offshore and heavy duty trucks.

Water-based zinc flake solution with low curing temperature

Geomet LT is a water-based, PFAS-free zinc flake coating that is optimized for low temperature curing and is suitable for dip and spin coating, rack coating and (electrostatic) spray systems. It is designed for both small parts and complex geometries. The main features are high corrosion resistance, tested up to 720-2,000 h, a low curing temperature (ideal for heat sensitive parts), temperature resistance up to 300 °C, no hydrogen embrittlement due to the non-electrolytic coating process. It offers excellent compatibility with aluminum to prevent bimetallic corrosion, is chrome-free, PFAS-free and REACh compliant and suitable for flexible application processes for bulk and rack parts. Geomet LT can be used for fasteners, stampings, fasteners and components with cavities or partial coating requirements. Both technologies have been developed with future environmental standards in mind and offer clear environmental benefits.
