Müller Präzisionswerkzeuge GmbH is strengthening its cooperation with HB Microtec GmbH in order to better serve the medical technology and aerospace markets. As a result, Müller is expanding its portfolio and HB Microtec its geographical presence.

HB Microtec is particularly well connected in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria and is an established manufacturer of drilling, milling and deburring tools for the medical technology and aerospace industries. The cooperation expands Müller's portfolio and HB Microtec's geographical presence. The cooperation will bring strategic and technological advantages to both companies. In future, HB Microtec will be able to have its special tools with a diameter of over 6 mm manufactured in series at Müller in Sien. By using the ultra-modern production facility, HB Microtec will be able to significantly increase the number of units produced. Müller, for its part, will benefit from improved machine utilization and a larger portfolio of solutions. "Müller's experts not only have an excellent network throughout Germany, but also in neighboring countries. This allows us to significantly increase our reach and at the same time draw on the extensive consulting expertise of the Müller experts in the companies. This will particularly benefit manufacturing companies that process titanium alloys, cobalt-chrome and heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant steel alloys," confirms Robert Bede, owner and Managing Director of HB Microtec.

Optimization of tool coatings and surface treatments

"We are always open to exploring new avenues in order to strengthen our location and our market presence. The cooperation with HB Microtec is therefore a strategic move for the future: not only with regard to new markets, but also in particular with regard to future tool developments," emphasizes Mathias Schmidt, Managing Director of Müller Präzisionswerkzeuge. The two partners are planning to drive forward joint developments in the future. For example, they want to jointly optimize tool coatings and surface treatments in order to further increase the service life of tools. The development of combination tools for small series production is also planned in order to reduce machining times and further increase cost-effectiveness for manufacturing companies.
