At GrindingHub 2024 in Stuttgart, MAW Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH will be showcasing the brushing-polishing and micro-finishing processes for the fine machining of tools and precision parts.

At the international GrindingHub trade fair, MAW Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH will be presenting two processes for fine surface finishing. These are brush polishing and micro-finishing. The aim of the presentation is to introduce the public to reliable process technology solutions for surface improvement. This involves small, precise components and precision tools. The brush polishing process developed by René Gerber AG focuses on the processing of tools. The tool cutting edge in particular. With the new robot-controlled BS Robo brush polishing machine, shank tools such as milling cutters, drills, taps and similar tools are precisely rounded at the cutting edge in the micro range. A second processing step also enables the polishing of surfaces, e.g. a chip flute. Further process steps can be added. The result is a perfect tool with high cutting performance and a long tool life. With the BP Mx brush polishing machine, which is also on display, indexable inserts are given a defined edge rounding and hard materials can be polished to a mirror-like surface in a matter of seconds.

The micro mass finishing process from Polyservice AG allows small and micro parts to be deburred and surfaces to be polished. The process is gentle on the edges of the workpiece and ensures a high degree of dimensional accuracy. Specially developed mass finishing machines, such as the MR 10-T microvibrator exhibited at GrindingHub, are ideal for processing the smallest components in micromechanics, electronics and medical technology. All metallic materials through to carbide and ceramic materials can be machined. Another highlight is the unique ME 4 tool polishing machine, which replaces difficult manual polishing work with an easily controllable, safe, mechanical process. The technology is used to polish the outer contours of forming punches and the inner contours of drawing dies made of tool steel or carbide to a high gloss. The MAW stand at GrindingHub 2024 is in hall 10, stand number B80.
