Lukas-Erzett presents economical SLTT flap discs

A recent cost-benefit comparison carried out by Lukas-Erzett for its abrasive flap disc Turbo (SLTT) shows that those who select abrasive tools based solely on the purchase price are often saving money at the wrong end.
The flap discs from Lukas-Erzett are characterized by their high stock removal rate, long service life and ergonomic handling - and therefore lead to significantly lower overall costs in metalworking. Particularly in industries such as shipbuilding, bridge building or vehicle manufacturing, the influence that the choice of high-quality tools has on efficiency and cost-effectiveness quickly becomes apparent. While standard rough grinding wheels cost an average of around 24.50 euros per kilogram of material removed and conventional flap discs cost around 17.37 euros, SLTT flap discs cost just 12.67 euros. The higher productivity results from the greater removal rate and shorter processing time. Another advantage, according to the manufacturer, is the service life. Thanks to the special design with flat sickle-shaped flaps, new abrasive grains are continuously exposed so that the discs remain "sharp" for longer. A stable steel plate also ensures safety without the risk of breakage. Fewer tool changes mean less downtime and lower procurement costs - a factor that is particularly important in series production.
SLTT flap discs from Lukas-Erzett as an economical tool
The SLTT discs also impress in terms of ease of use. The optimized grain distribution in the outer area enables a high removal rate per minute with less effort. This reduces vibrations and noticeably relieves the user. In turn, machines benefit from less wear on spindles and bearings as well as shorter running times, which reduces maintenance and energy costs. In addition, the abrasive flap discs contribute to a consistently high surface quality. Because the abrasive coating renews itself evenly, the performance remains stable over the entire service life. This reduces reworking costs, shortens cycle times and improves process reliability. Thanks to their robust design, the wheels are also suitable for use in automated production environments. The combination of high efficiency, long service life and consistent quality makes the SLTT flap discs an economical tool for a wide range of applications. Lukas-Erzett thus demonstrates that a higher purchase price quickly pays for itself - through lower overall production costs.
