Leutenegger + Frei AG is expanding its service portfolio with a new energy assessment. The service creates transparency about energy consumption along the entire coating line and helps to increase energy efficiency, reduce costs and improve the carbon footprint.

The core of the new service is the combination of measurement hardware and specially developed software. This systematically records and evaluates energy and process data and assigns it to the main consumers within the plant. This creates a transparent overall picture that reveals energy weaknesses and clearly defines priorities. "Energy is one of the biggest cost factors in powder coating - at the same time, consumption in many companies can only be tracked to a limited extent on a process-related basis," says Christian Dreszig, Head of Business Development at Leutenegger + Frei AG. "With our energy assessment, we make energy flows visible and highlight specific measures - from quick wins to structural optimizations." The energy assessment is aimed at contract coaters and in-house coaters in all industries, both for existing systems and as part of optimization projects. The service includes the recording and analysis of energy flows and relevant process parameters, the measurement and energy evaluation of system components, identification of efficiency potential and prioritization according to cost and benefit as well as a concrete roadmap of measures for short-term optimizations and medium-term investment decisions. The result is a compact report with recommendations for action and technical implementation proposals.

Energy assessment for contract and in-house coaters

In contrast to general energy audits, the energy assessment takes into account the specific framework conditions in wet painting and powder coating: product mix and batch sizes, capacity utilization and cycle times, temperature profiles, air volumes, operating strategies (standby/start-up processes) and the interactions between process stability, quality and energy consumption. A precise analysis through targeted measurements and calculation of the energy flows of the system in production operation provides the basis for sustainable optimization and potential savings. Based on the results, Leutenegger + Frei AG offers optional further services - from the detailed design of individual measures and retrofit concepts to accompanying implementation and effectiveness monitoring. This provides customers with a continuous path from analysis to actual savings. Leutenegger + Frei will be exhibiting at PaintExpo Karlsruhe in Hall 2, Stand 2119.
