KST Kugel-Strahltechnik celebrates 40 years

In December 1982, the company KST Kugel-Strahltechnik started. In December 2022, the surface specialist not only looks back on 40 years of company history, but also on a good year despite all adversities.
The service provider KST Kugel-Strahltechnik is a partner to a wide variety of industries. "We are broadly positioned, do not depend on one industry, react quickly and find solutions. That's what's in demand," says Managing Director Marco Heinemann happily. KST founders Eberhard and Eckhard Heinemann started with a used cleaning shot blast machine for mining and mechanical engineering. Today, KST has over 40 employees, works on 26 blasting machines and serves customers across Germany: in plant and mechanical engineering, in the automotive sector, in the furniture, electrical, sanitary and lighting industries. "Production companies need flexible service providers who can cushion peaks when needed and ensure smooth processes. This requirement is our main focus," Heinemann emphasizes.
KST has always followed industrial changes, adapting, meeting changing requirements with its blasting processes. This agility is still a success factor today. Cleaning blasting, sandblasting and sweeping, deburring, stainless steel and glass bead blasting - the range of services is constantly growing. With shot peening, KST specifically increases the resistance of lightweight components - an important aspect in e-mobility. Large formats, unusual shapes, very small parts often require creative solutions. With a well thought-out concept - and its own crane system for heavyweights - KST cleaned, for example, the 55-meter-high, 180-ton "Eiffel Tower of the Ruhr" - the "Lanstroper Ei". Filigree parts pass through special systems that ensure 100 percent batch reliability. The specialist responds to current material shortages with targeted stockpiling in terms of blasting media. "There is always a solution," says Heinemann, "finding it motivates us."
