The cold air curtain Line-Blow from Kager can be used for non-contact drying and cleaning of surfaces as well as for protection against heat, smoke and soot. The pneumatic module belongs to the group of cold air curtains or air blades and is very easy to integrate into existing processes.

There are many applications in industry and research where the Line-Blow air knife from Kager can provide valuable services. In packaging lines, in sterilization processes, in painting systems or in film production, for example, the pneumatic module is used for contactless cooling, drying and cleaning of sensitive surfaces. In most cases, the aim is to gently temper and dry surfaces and components without coming into contact with people or machines - and at the same time to remove dust and dirt particles as well as liquid residues. The targeted swirling and distribution of airborne media and non-contact material separation are also among the Line-Blow's areas of application. Depending on the version, the air blade of the Line-Blow creates a thin and transparent "wall" of dry cold air across widths of 150 to 900 millimetres. Depending on the installation situation and the specific application, the pneumatic module can be mounted in a suspended, horizontal or upright position. Thanks to its compact design, it can be easily integrated into cooling, drying, turbulence and cleaning processes. It is connected to the company's compressed air network with a ¼-inch connection. The Line-Blow from Kager operates quietly.

Cold air curtain in aluminum or stainless steel

The Line-Blow is available in two versions with different housings. The lightweight aluminum version is best suited for most industrial processes. Alternatively, Kager offers a corrosion-resistant stainless steel version. It is an ideal solution for use in the food, pharmaceutical, medical and chemical industries in particular. For applications with longer conveying or throughput distances, several line blows can be connected in series to form stacks. The geometrically well-defined cold air curtain of the Line-Blow is created by the special design of the air outlet opening on the housing. Here, the cold air flowing out through a gap just 50 micrometers wide is expanded over a large area and can be precisely directed. The air volume of the generated air curtain is 25 times higher than the supplied compressed air. The pneumatic module from Kager therefore works very efficiently.

Protection against airborne particles

Another major area of application for the Line-Blow is occupational safety. Here, the module serves as a pneumatic protective curtain against heat, smoke, soot, dust and mechanical abrasion. Correctly installed and adjusted, it can act as an invisible barrier between the employee and air contaminated with harmful airborne particles or prevent them from spreading. Respirable pollutants are produced in many industrial workplaces - such as foundries, paint stores and welding shops - and pollute the air we breathe. In some cases, the Line-Blow has also been used in the installation of dust and particle airlocks, such as those used in laboratories, cleanrooms and cleanroom technology. Depending on the area of application, they serve both occupational safety (improvement of room air) and quality assurance and process optimization (technical cleanliness).
