IKV gets new head for education and training
On August 1, 2023, Hans-Dieter Plum took over from Dr.-Ing. Martin Facklam as Managing Director of the Training and Education Department at the Institute of Plastics Processing in Industry and Crafts at RWTH Aachen University (IKV).
In his role as Managing Director of Education and Training at the Institute of Plastics Processing in Industry and Crafts at RWTH Aachen University, Hans-Dieter Plum succeeds Dr.-Ing. Martin Facklam, who has held this position since the end of 2020 and left the institute in October. In his new role, Hans-Dieter Plum will be responsible for plastics technology education and training activities in the craft and industrial context at the IKV. He also completes the IKV's management team.
During his professional career, which spans several decades and stations in science and industry, Hans-Dieter Plum has demonstrated his expertise and passion for plastics technology and mechanical engineering. In his most recent position as head of mechanical testing at the Center for Plastics Analysis and Testing (KAP) at IKV, which he has held since 2016, he was responsible for project planning and implementation. In addition, he continuously collaborated on scientific and industrial research projects. His relevant education in the engineering field as well as his extensive practical experience in plastics technology are the best prerequisites for his new task as head of education and training at the IKV.
