Hubergroup Elara: New additive product range for paints and coatings
Hubergroup Chemicals expands its portfolio with new high-performance additives: Elara. The launch marks a significant step in the company's development - from a supplier of printing ink raw materials to a comprehensive partner for the paints, coatings, printing inks and adhesives industry.
The demands placed on coating and printing ink systems are increasing due to higher performance requirements, stricter regulatory requirements and sustainability targets. Additives take on central functions such as dispersion, wetting, process stability and surface quality. With the new Elara product range, Hubergroup Chemicals is bundling its activities in the additives sector into a structured platform. According to the company, the series is intended to bring together existing polymer expertise in clearly defined, application-oriented solutions. Elara is designed as a modular system whose products each fulfill a specific function within formulations and can be used both individually and in combination.
New Elara additive product range from Hubergroup
The portfolio includes non-aqueous dispersants from the Elara Disperion 400 series for organic and inorganic pigments, carbon blacks and fillers in solvent-based, solvent-free and UV/EB systems. Elara Disperion 500 is aimed at aqueous systems and is designed for color consistency, reproducibility and binder compatibility, also for VOC- and biocide-free formulations. With Elara Wetora 300, wetting agents are available for water-based, solvent-based, solvent-free and UV-curing systems, which are designed to improve substrate wetting and reduce surface defects. According to the manufacturer, many products are solvent-free or VOC-reduced. The platform is designed to be scalable; further product groups such as defoamers, humectants and rheology additives are planned. The global market launch has been announced for March 2026.
