The exhibitors at Hannover Messe 2023 and Deutsche Messe AG have drawn a thoroughly positive conclusion from this year's event. The world's leading trade fair for industry had shown that the technologies for competitive and at the same time climate-neutral industrial production are available.

The core topics of Hannover Messe 2023 included artificial intelligence, hydrogen, energy management, connected and intelligent production, and the new Manufacturing-X data ecosystem. In addition to the 130,000 visitors on the exhibition grounds, the trade fair was able to count another 15,000 registered visitors who participated digitally in the event. They followed the conference program, learned about digital product presentations and took part in hybrid visitor tours. "There is a spirit of optimism in the halls of Hannover Messe," said Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe AG, at the closing press conference of Hannover Messe 2023. "The high expectations of the exhibiting companies and visitors were exceeded." More than 4,000 exhibitors presented their solutions for a digital, connected as well as sustainable industry and met 130,000 visitors from all over the world in Hannover. "The past five days of the trade fair have shown: The technologies for competitive and climate-neutral industrial production are available - now we need speed and determination in implementation," said Köckler.

At the same time, it would become clear that climate protection needs industry. And it does so as a supplier and user of technologies that enable CO2-neutral production. Köckler: "The Hannover Messe is the global platform for exchange between industry, politics, science and society. And never has it been more important than today to exchange ideas. The technological solutions for climate-neutral production are here! However, in order to secure the competitiveness of industry and our prosperity in the long term, bureaucratic obstacles must be quickly dismantled, opportunities fueled and transnational cooperations concluded." The international attendance was correspondingly high. 43 percent of visitors came from abroad to find out how they can make their production fit for the future. The top visitor countries after Germany were the Netherlands, China, Korea, Poland and the USA. ZVEI President and Chairman of the Hannover Messe Exhibitor Advisory Board Dr. Gunther Kegel drew the following conclusion from the point of view of the exhibiting companies: "Electrification, digitization and automation: It is these three trends that have left their mark on this year's Hannover Messe and which lead to solutions on how, for example, effective climate protection can be achieved. Moreover, it is precisely the interplay of these trends that shows that the energy turnaround must also be an energy efficiency turnaround." "Climate protection and sustainability are now high on the agenda of industry throughout the world. In order to achieve the targeted climate neutrality, new, intelligent technologies and solutions are needed for resource-conserving and efficient production across all areas of life," said Thilo Brodtmann, VDMA Executive Vice President. "Here at Hannover Messe in particular, we have sensed the great interest of customers in the solutions that the mechanical and plant engineering sector is providing for this purpose." The next Hannover Messe will be held from April 22 to 26, 2024.
