Grimm Pulverlack builds second high-bay warehouse

For quite some time, Grimm Pulverlack GmbH in Schwäbisch Gmünd had been planning to expand the existing contingent of storage space. Due to various building regulations, the start of construction had to be postponed again and again, which meant that external storage capacity had to be rented. In July 2023, the time had finally come and construction could begin on the second high-bay warehouse at the Schwäbisch Gmünd site. "In order to be able to further increase our assortment depth and availability, we have started the construction of our second high-bay warehouse. We are convinced that speed and flexibility will become increasingly important in order to be able to meet most customer requirements, even at short notice," says Heike Grimm.

With probably the largest powder coating warehouse in Germany, which since then has had a capacity of 3,000 pallet spaces, Grimm Pulverlack GmbH has been able to provide its customers with a wide range of over 1,500 different powder coatings, in 500 shades and up to 20 variants, as permanent stock items. Thanks to the construction of the 2nd high-bay warehouse, a further 1,700 pallet storage spaces will be created. "With this step, the course has been set for even more capacity and thus delivery quality, so that the delivery service for our customers will be even better," says Heike Grimm. Since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, Grimm Pulverlack has noticed that many coating companies have made increasing use of the fast delivery service (order daily by 4 p.m. and dispatch the same day). Also, the difficult and crucial issue during the pandemic, availability, could always be maintained to the satisfaction of all customers in almost all cases, and even many new customers could be won as a result. The second high-bay warehouse of Grimm Pulverlack GmbH is expected to be completed by fall 2023.
