The Fachverband Galvanisierte Kunststoffe e.V. (FGK) will be exhibiting at the VDI International Congress on Plastics in Automotive Engineering in Baden-Baden on 18/19 March 2026 and presenting its new generation of high-quality real metal surfaces.

PIAE stands for Plastics in Automotive Engineering and is the leading congress for plastics in cars. For over 40 years, it has been highlighting current plastics engineering applications and their use in interiors, exteriors, engines, materials and technologies with carefully selected presentations from top-class automotive manufacturers and suppliers. The accompanying PIAE exhibition with representatives from the entire value chain has become one of the highlights of the event. An ideal platform for the FGK to present itself and its new generation of high-quality CREON real metal surfaces.

Decorative and functional electroplated layers on plastic components

The FGK represents qualified surface technology companies with a focus on decorative and functional electroplated coatings on plastic components, primarily for the demanding automotive industry. In recent years, its focus has been on the development of sustainable surfaces: 100 percent recyclable, coating of components with recycled content, chromium (VI)- and PFAS-free, resource efficiency in every step of the process. At the PIAE, the FGK will demonstrate to trade visitors how high-quality haptics and outstanding surface quality can be combined with recyclability and sustainability. The real metal surfaces also offer outstanding design options, especially in combination with light. As suppliers of electroplated plastic parts, the FGK members' range of services goes beyond the actual coating. At the customer's request, they also take on the production of the component or further processing steps. Design, toolmaking, injection moulding, the electroplated end product and assembly activities - everything comes from a single source.
