Electronics design in focus: Peters at FED conference

On September 29 and 30, the 30th FED Conference will take place in Potsdam. Lackwerke Peters will be flying the flag at the event with a team of three from the Lower Rhine region.
The trade association for design, printed circuit board and electronics manufacturing brings together experts from the electronics industry at the FED conference to exchange knowledge and experience with presentations and an exhibition. This year, the focus is on the anniversary of the trade association. For 30 years, the FED has offered its members - including Peters - and the industry a forum for exchange and continuing education. This has always been done with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of the electronics industry in the D-A-CH region. Founded by a small circle of electronics designers, the FED has developed into a trade association with 700 members covering the entire value chain in the electronics industry. This success story will be duly celebrated at the 30th FED conference.
Peters can be found at booth 22 at the exhibition in Potsdam. In addition, Michael Kollasa will give a presentation at the conference on September 29 at 3:15 p.m. in Room 0.214: Flexible Solder-Resists - Applications, Performance and Limitations. "Electronic circuit carriers have a wide range of applications," reports Michael Kollasa. The Peters employee is head of field sales at the Kempen-based family company. Electronic circuit carriers can be found in all electronic devices, computer and telecommunications technologies. In recent years, according to the 51-year-old, the focus of flex circuit applications has expanded into automotive ("flex-to-install"), sensor technology and medical technology. Various aspects must be taken into account when selecting a coating system that is optimally matched to the specific application. This concerns, for example, requirements with regard to fitting accuracy and resolution, as well as compatibility between the foil carriers and the solder resist process. The processing of photo-structurable flexible solder resist requires a somewhat different approach than that of classic photo-structurable solder resist, reports FED consultant Michael Kollasa. Various types of solder resist are available to meet the different applications of flexible circuit carriers. Michael Kollasa: "They have been specially formulated for the corresponding application areas."
