DGO Young Talent Award 2024 presented

The DGO Young Talent Award 2024 of the German Society for Electroplating and Surface Technology e.V. (DGO) for special student achievements in the field of composite electroforming was awarded to Phillip Scherzl (Schott AG).
The DGO - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Galvano- und Oberflächentechnik e.V. awards Phillip Scherzl, Schott AG, Landshut, the DGO Young Talent Award 2024 for his master's thesis on "Contribution to the composite electroforming of aluminum-based cathodes for lithium-ion batteries". The deposition of aluminum from ionic liquids opens up new possibilities for the continuous production of films of different thicknesses and structures for use as battery electrodes. In combination with dispersion deposition, greater availability can be achieved for active materials in batteries.
Scherzl's work therefore makes an important contribution to further developing and increasing the performance of battery cells using electroplating processes. The DGO Young Talent Award 2024 was presented on September 11, 2024 at the ZVO Surface Technology Days in Leipzig. The prize is endowed with €1000 and recognizes outstanding student work in the field of electroplating technology.
