DataPhysics Instruments is expanding the scope of application for its dpiMAX device software. In addition to the OCA series contact angle meters, the software can now be used to operate other instruments for surface and interfacial analysis.

DataPhysics Instruments has further developed its dpiMAX instrument software. The software, which has been available since 2022 for the OCA series contact angle meters, now also supports the PCA 200 portable contact angle meter, the SVT 25 spinning-drop tensiometer, the MBP 200 bubble pressure tensiometer, and the ZPA 20 zeta potential analyzer. During development, particular attention was paid to standardizing the user interface across the various measurement methods. dpiMAX guides users through the entire process, from instrument setup and measurement to data analysis and the creation of results reports. Predefined processes can also be set up as one-click measurements, for example, for frequent repeat measurements.

Surface and Interfacial Analysis with dpiMAX

With the PCA 200 portable contact angle meter, dpiMAX enables advanced analyses and the management of measurement results. The SVT 25 uses the software to measure low and ultra-low interfacial tensions as well as to study oscillating and rotating droplets. With the ZPA 20 zeta potential analyzer, parameters such as streaming potential, pressure, conductivity, pH, and temperature are displayed in real time, and the zeta potential is calculated directly. For the MBP 200 bubble-pressure tensiometer, dpiMAX supports various methods for determining dynamic surface tension and can also determine adsorption and diffusion coefficients. dpiMAX is now offered as standard for new devices in the OCA series as well as the MBP 200, SVT 25, and ZPA 20; for the PCA 200, the software is available as an option.
