The startup COPPS won the Partslife Environmental Awards 2023. The award was given for the paint and surface technology developed by COPPS for the Applicationmanager, a particularly environmentally friendly high-performance device for energy- and resource-saving paint application.

Michael Teschke, Managing Director of COPPS GmbH, accepted the environmental award at the Partslife Congress in June 2023. "As a startup company that is only four years old, we are thrilled to have won this important award for our innovative technology. It saves our customers up to 100 percent of the drying energy required for paint jobs, reduces paint consumption and improves paint quality, resulting in significantly less rework. It's great that the jury saw our technology in its entirety and rated its economic and ecological potential as worthy of an award," says a delighted Michael Teschke. The prize money, which amounts to EUR 10,000 for the first-place winner, will be donated by COPPS in equal parts to the Peter Maffay Foundation and to TEILEn e. V. Since its foundation, COPPS has been working very closely with Akzo Nobel, an international group for paint and coatings production. An exclusive agreement exists for the support of customers in the bodywork and paint trade as well as the automotive sector. Says Michael Teschke: "This agreement makes sense. After all, Akzo Nobel has provided us with essential support in the development, in the tests up to the marketability of the equipment, and in sales. This is the only way we have been able to sell around 200 of our high-end devices in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Next year, we will be launching together in additional European countries."

This year, the topic of industry is on the agenda at COPPS. Extensive tests with the COPPS devices are currently taking place at important German and European industrial paint manufacturers. "I am convinced," says Michael Teschke," that we will also find a strong partner for our innovative technology in industrial coatings." "Without substantial support, young companies have a very difficult time on the market," says the COPPS managing director, "which is why we are also grateful to the trade press, which has reported on us. But we have also received support from network partners, suppliers, trade fair companies and government agencies. At the international trade show European Coatings Show in Nuremberg, we were offered the opportunity to apply for a place on the sponsored joint stand of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, so this year we were able to present ourselves on the stand "Made in Germany. Young innovative companies". In the meantime, our technology has been recognized as eligible for funding, so that customers in Germany can apply for up to 40 percent of the acquisition costs as government funding. In Austria, a comparable government subsidy exists." Partslife has been awarding the Environmental Prize to companies from the automotive market since 2012, thus working to promote and emulate improved environmental conditions. The award is given to companies whose active, environmentally oriented actions are particularly exemplary.
