Chemetall Receives the 2026 Airbus SQIP Award
Chemetall was once again honored with the highest award in the Airbus Supply Chain & Quality Improvement Program (SQIP) and recognized for its performance with “Accredited Supplier” status.
Chemetall, the global Surface Technology business unit of BASF Coatings, has received the Airbus SQIP Award for the eleventh consecutive year. This recognition reflects consistently high performance in terms of product quality, on-time delivery, and the ability to reliably handle increasing production volumes. The award was presented at Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France, where teams from Airbus’s Procurement and Supply Chain & Quality Management (SCQM) departments recognized the consistent performance and dedication of Chemetall employees in the areas of production, laboratory, quality, supply chain, and customer service.

Aviation is a strategically important market for Chemetall, and this renewed recognition from Airbus holds special significance given the high standards for quality, delivery, and reliability,” says Frank Naber, Senior Vice President of Global Surface Treatment at BASF Coatings. In addition to the SQIP accreditation, Chemetall received a special award for its de-risking initiatives. “This recognition of our de-risking initiatives underscores our proactive approach to ensuring supply capability and supporting Airbus’s production requirements,” says Guillaume Larrieu, Global Key Account Manager for Airbus at Chemetall. The Airbus SQIP program aims to advance Airbus’s strategically important suppliers on their path to industrial excellence in terms of product quality and delivery reliability. Suppliers’ performance is evaluated annually and either confirmed or adjusted based on their compliance with Airbus’s strict standards.
