BASF Coatings has renewed its industry partnership with WorldSkills International. The company thus continues to support the global WorldSkills vocational competition in the automotive refinishing category.

With its premium paint brand Glasurit, BASF remains the exclusive global industry partner of WorldSkills International in the automotive refinishing category. "We are proud to continue to support young refinishers competing at WorldSkills to develop their skills and also attract new talent to the exciting automotive refinish industry. Our global industry partnership continues to help raise awareness for a more sustainable future and work together to raise the bar for the development of young talent in the industry," says Chris Titmarsh, Senior Vice President, Global Automotive Refinish Coatings at BASF.

Following its successful launch at WorldSkills Lyon 2024, Glasurit will once again use its most advanced waterborne basecoat system, Series 100, which is recognized as the world's leading waterborne refinish system for outstanding performance in process time, consumption and sustainability. In addition, participants will learn how to integrate Refinity into their daily work - an exclusive digital platform for color, training and business solutions. The world's largest skills competition, WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, will take place in Shanghai, China, from September 22-27, 2026. "Every day, WorldSkills members nurture the ambition and talent of professionals worldwide to solve the most pressing problems of our time. BASF Coatings' leading market position provides our young talent with access to the best products and materials in the industry, ensuring they can shine on the global stage," says David Hoey, CEO of WorldSkills International.
