AkzoNobel powder coating innovations at PaintExpo 2026

AkzoNobel Powder Coatings will be presenting new developments in powder coatings at PaintExpo 2026. The focus will be on energy-efficient curing, new design possibilities for architecture and high-performance coatings for mobility applications.
Powder coating technology is constantly evolving - in terms of efficiency as well as design and functionality. At PaintExpo 2026 in Karlsruhe, AkzoNobel Powder Coatings will be showcasing new developments from the Interpon and Resicoat product ranges at stand 3420. Among other things, they are intended to contribute to more energy-efficient processes, durable surfaces and expanded design options. The technologies on show also include a laser-based curing process for powder coatings developed jointly with IPG. The energy is applied to the coating in a targeted manner by laser, which should shorten curing times and reduce energy consumption. A live demonstration is planned every hour at the trade fair stand, in which a powder coating application with subsequent laser curing is shown. Visitors will be able to gain a direct impression of the potential process benefits and improved process control.
Powder coatings for design and mobility at PaintExpo
In addition to process innovations, the focus will also be on new design possibilities. For architectural applications, the company will be presenting the Futura Collection 2026-2029, a color collection that picks up on the global design trends of the coming years. In addition, Interpon Précis Ultra Matt will be presented, which is designed to create particularly matt surfaces with subtle gloss effects. The Interpon D2525 Anodic series, which combines an anodized aluminium look with high weather resistance, is also being expanded. Another field of application is mobility solutions. Powder coatings from the Interpon portfolio are used for wheels, springs or underbody components, for example, where corrosion protection and mechanical resistance are required. With the increasing electrification of vehicles, electrically insulating coatings are also gaining in importance. AkzoNobel will be presenting solutions from its Resicoat range, which have been developed for batteries, motors and other components in electric vehicles. The company will also be presenting solutions from its Eco+ portfolio, which are designed to enable lower-energy curing, reduced material usage and simplified application processes. The aim is to combine productivity and environmental aspects more closely.
