51st Workshop of the Atmospheric Pressure Plasma User Group (ak-adp)

The 51st workshop of the ak-adp will take place on 15 and 16 April 2026 at Plasmatreat GmbH in Steinhagen and is being organized in cooperation with the Competence Network Industrial Plasma Surface Technology Inplas e.V. The close integration of industry and science, as practiced in the Inplas working groups, also forms the basis for a practical and application-oriented exchange. Increasing demands on functionality, design, cost-effectiveness and sustainability are increasingly shaping the development of modern surfaces. Atmospheric pressure plasmas have established themselves as a central component of industrial manufacturing processes. They enable chemical-free cleaning and functionalization processes as well as the deposition of nanoscale layers and thus offer great potential for sustainable and future-proof production strategies.

In terms of content, the focus will be on an in-depth understanding of the process as a prerequisite for effective use of the technology, industrial plasma systems with specific application examples and methods of process control to ensure product quality. Applications in fiber-reinforced plastics, bio-based coatings, reflection-reducing surfaces, multi-component injection molding and the treatment of recycled surfaces will be presented. The program will be complemented by the ak-adp Talk, which will address current implementation approaches, industrial requirements and future R&D needs relating to atmospheric pressure plasma. In addition to specialist presentations and discussions, the workshop will offer insights into practical applications through a tour of the host's plant.
