24th Materials Technology Colloquium 2025 of the TU Chemnitz

The Institute of Materials Science and Engineering at Chemnitz University of Technology is organizing the 24th Materials Technology Colloquium on April 2 and 3, 2025 under the guiding theme "Sustainability through innovative materials technology".
National and international experts will present the latest research results from materials, surface and joining technology in lectures and posters at the 24th Materials Technology Colloquium at Chemnitz University of Technology. The event offers a unique opportunity for a stimulating exchange under the motto "Academia meets Industry" and for networking with experts from research and industry in the inspiring atmosphere of the European Capital of Culture 2025. The event will focus on application-oriented contributions from the following subject areas: Surface technology (thermal coating and treatment, electroplating, anodizing), materials development (high-entropy alloys, high-strength steels, light metals, ultra-fine-grained materials, shape memory alloys), joining and production technology, additive processes (soldering, build-up and joint welding, powder metallurgy, printing of metals),Composites and hybrid materials (MMC, PMC, CMC, functionalized materials), material behaviour and analysis (lightweight construction, material testing, microstructure characterization, fatigue and damage) and human-centric digitalization (cognitive engineering and information visualization, hybrid decision-making, human-technology interaction).
Top-class plenary lectures will introduce the scientific contributions in the thematically organized sessions. Scientific contributions can be presented in the form of a lecture or a poster in both German and English. Registration of contributions for the event is possible in the form of an abstract with a maximum of 200 words until October 28, 2024. Industry participants also have the opportunity to present themselves at the industry exhibition and provide insights into their products, processes and services in five-minute keynote speeches. The event thus offers a wide range of opportunities to exchange ideas with specialist colleagues, industry representatives and interested participants and to make new contacts.
