The Kunststoff-Institut exhibits at the K trade fair 2022

The Kunststoff-Institut will again present itself at this year's plastics trade fair K 2022 from October 19 to 26, 2022 in Düsseldorf. Topics include smart monitoring of injection molds and projects on sustainability.
The specially designated and contiguous exhibition area of the Kunststoff-Institut in Hall 7.0 is entirely dedicated to the topics of research and development and shows the technical innovations from the various sub-sectors of plastics processing. One focus here is "Smart Monitoring - ECG on the injection mold". By recording structure-borne sound waves in the mold, conclusions can be drawn about maintenance and servicing intervals as well as signs of wear. Given that each mold element and each phase of the injection molding process generates an individual acoustic "fingerprint", maintenance, servicing and repair work can be controlled in this way, thus increasing the availability and service life of molds and the efficiency of injection molding processes.
Also on display will be various projects on the subject of sustainability: biopolymers - materials, properties, sustainability; recycling - use of recyclate for technical products; multi-component technology, rethought, and the Poly4Nature innovation network. Other topics include EMC shielding, hybrid technology, InMould Coating, paper injection molding, as well as two other innovation networks such as CAM-SYS-4.0 for the micro-optics sector and MED-IG-4.0 for the medical industry. Furthermore, there will be information on the numerous other research, development, collaborative and funded projects of the Kunststoff-Institut.
