RAL Farben celebrates its 100th anniversary with Raw Color Edition

The history of RAL colors began 100 years ago with RAL Classic: The first RAL colour chart initially contained a selection of 40 standardized shades with the aim of standardizing colors and enabling industrial goods to be uniformly coated and painted. Over time, the color palette has grown to 216 shades. To develop the design, Raw Color researched the history and areas of application of RAL Classic colors, formed categories and assigned colors to these categories. The result of the design is a selection of 5 colors that represent application areas such as traffic, communication technology and security. A description was added to each color, providing insights into the historical application context.

RAL Raw Color anniversary design with limited edition

The Raw Color anniversary design is now available in a limited edition for the RAL K7, RAL K5 gloss and RAL K5 semi-matt color fans in the RAL Colors online store and from selected specialist dealers. To express the special nature of the anniversary, RAL Farben is supporting the organization Socialbee in the anniversary year 2025 with a donation per sale of the anniversary edition via the RAL Farben online store: for every RAL K5 colour fan, a donation of €1 will be made to the organization, and €0.50 for every RAL K7 colour fan. Socialbee brings companies and people together: The organization supports people with refugee and migrant backgrounds in integrating into the German labour market as well as companies in integrating these talents. Markus Frentrop, Head of RAL Colours, explains the selection of the organization as follows: "As diverse as the selection of our RAL colors is the togetherness in our working world today! Colleagues with very different backgrounds and lifestyles work in our team. That's why our support for Socialbee is just the right thing to mark RAL's anniversary."
