15th German Hazardous Substance Protection Award launched

Under the motto "Safe. Better. Work.", the German Hazardous Substance Protection Award (GSP) is looking for initiatives and practical solutions that protect employees from carcinogenic hazardous substances in the workplace. The Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS) is awarding the prize for the 15th time.
From 1 November 2023 to 31 March 2024, individuals, groups of people, companies and organizations can apply for the German Hazardous Substance Protection Award, which is endowed with a total of 10,000 euros. With the next GSP, the BMAS honors solutions, innovations or practical assistance to prevent health risks to employees from carcinogenic hazardous substances. We are looking for safety-related, organizational or hygienic solutions to minimize carcinogenic hazardous substances in the workplace. In addition, measures and projects that involve the introduction or further development of new and safe work equipment or processes can be recognized. Initiatives in the areas of training, motivation and employee participation are also eligible for awards.
The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) is accepting applications for the award until March 31, 2024. Details can be found at www.gefahrstoffschutzpreis.de. The award ceremony will take place in fall 2024. The winning entries will be shown to the public in the form of films and posters and presented at the DASA Arbeitswelt exhibition in Dortmund. Legal recourse is excluded. You can find out more about the Hazardous Substance Protection Award, examples from past competitions and three interviews with former award winners at www.gefahrstoffschutzpreis.de.
