Metallization system from Singulus Technologies for the packaging industry

Singulus Technologies is supplying a polycoater system to a leading Italian packaging company. The metallization system is based on the principle of vacuum cathode sputtering (Physical Vapor Deposition = PVD) and is an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional galvanic processes.
The acquisition of a metallization line from Singulus Technoligies, manufacturer of innovative production machines for vacuum coating technology, by a leading Italian packaging company based in Bergamo, Italy, further expands the global spread of sustainable and cost-efficient vacuum inline coating processes. Stefano Rotella, representative of Albéa Cosmetics Italy Srl, Bottanuco BG, Italy, comments: "In order to find the optimal solution to improve our product quality, we were looking for a process that would continuously and reliably deliver high-quality surfaces. The Polycoater system gives us this opportunity. Thanks to its versatility, a wide range of products can be finished." The environmentally friendly coating processes from Singulus Technologies have successfully prevailed over conventional electroplating processes.
Dr.-Ing. Stefan Rinck, CEO of Singulus Technologies AG, comments on this success: "This additional order underlines our good positioning in the market with innovative products and signals a high customer acceptance for our new solutions. With our polycoater, we enable both economically and ecologically chromium (VI)-free coatings for various applications. The spectrum extends not only to the cosmetics industry, but also to suppliers to the consumer goods industry, where the polycoater is used for components with chrome optics such as pushbuttons and switches." The Polycoater system from Singulus Technologies is designed as an inline system and is based on the principle of vacuum cathode sputtering (Physical Vapor Deposition = PVD). Sputtering in a vacuum offers numerous inherent advantages. Compared to traditional batch production, this solution automates the manufacturing process and significantly reduces production costs by shortening the cycle times of inline production. To ensure perfect coating from all angles, the components are rotated in a vacuum chamber.
