With many interesting lectures and technical discussions around atmospheric plasmas, the 42nd workshop of the user group atmospheric pressure plasma (ak-adp) will take place on November 9 and 10, 2022 in Naumburg.

At the ak-adp workshop in cooperation with the German Industrial Research Association Konrad Zuse e.V., current work from research and industry will be presented and put up for discussion. After an introduction to the application of atmospheric plasmas for the controlled realization of surface wetting for various requirements, the focus of the presentations will be on the topics of special cleaning, activation and coating processes, adhesive-free joining, plasma modification of polymer and stainless steel surfaces, durability of a plasma pretreatment, cold plasma hardening as well as presentation of new developments and application examples from equipment manufacturers.

The concluding ak-adp talk will offer further opportunities for information and discussion, for example on the question of how adhesion properties of a surface can be measured most easily and reliably with the joint partner. The provocative question of whether test inks are humbug or a quick and inexpensive tool for practitioners will be posed under the focus "Surface energy under cross-examination". Employees of the analytical instrument manufacturers Krüss GmbH and Dataphysics Instruments GmbH are expected to attend. Both companies have many years of experience in building special equipment for measuring surface properties to determine wettability and adhesion. Concrete measurement scenarios will be presented in impulse lectures, which can then be discussed from the perspective of the workshop participants. The measurement technology can be tested during the breaks.
