The Premium E8 Pro Edition is a new thermal imaging camera from Teledyne Flir with enhanced optics, a touch screen and cloud connectivity with Flir Ignite. It allows inspectors to quickly locate electrical, mechanical and building issues.

The Teledyne Flir E8 Pro features a larger 3.5-inch touchscreen and cloud connectivity with Flir Ignite in the same pistol-grip form factor as traditional E8 Series thermal imaging cameras. The touchscreen allows users to share their images with colleagues, partners and customers via Wi-Fi, even annotating the screen to highlight results. Images can then be uploaded directly to the Flir Ignite Cloud. This increases efficiency and allows for a smoother workflow. "As part of effective predictive maintenance and condition monitoring programs, inspectors using thermography need easy-to-use handheld thermal imaging cameras connected to the cloud to quickly pinpoint issues and effortlessly share that data with colleagues and customers for further analysis," said Rob Milner, global business development director at Teledyne Flir. "The Flir E8 Pro, with its larger touchscreen and enhanced 640 × 480 pixel screen resolution, can do just that. It also features connectivity to the Flir Ignite Cloud for instant documentation. This provides inspectors with a familiar but superior handheld thermal imaging camera to get the job done quickly and efficiently."

The Flir E8 Pro offers crisp infrared and visible detail at an affordable price. Flir's patented Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging (MSX) combines a 5 MP digital camera with a powerful thermal imaging camera. To do this, the MSX feature overlays the contours of the visible area with the thermal image, providing significantly greater detail and contextual awareness without sacrificing thermal data. The tool also has an integrated LED lamp to capture important details via MSX in low-light scenarios to aid decision making. When connected to Wi-Fi, the Flir E8 Pro automatically syncs with the Flir Ignite application. Access is via a mobile device, web browser or desktop computer, eliminating the need to carry additional USB sticks, memory cards or cables. Images and video shared via Flir Ignite can then be accessed via Flir Thermal Studio software, allowing inspectors, colleagues and clients to view, edit, analyze and report results instantly. Designed to withstand the harshest industrial and outdoor environments, the Flir E8 Pro can withstand drop tests from a height of two meters. The rugged design offers 25 G shock resistance and 2 G vibration resistance. It also features an integrated lens protector. The Flir E8 Pro can run up to 4 hours of continuous operation on a battery that can be quickly changed and recharged for all-day use.
