The VacuFil Compact high-vacuum extraction unit from Kemper has received W3 certification from the Institute for Occupational Safety and Health of the German Social Accident Insurance (IFA). The test mark proves a high quality standard - also on the international market.

Since its premiere at Blechexpo 2021, the compact extraction solution VacuFil Compact has quickly established itself on the market. This is confirmed by the continuing high demand among metalworking companies. VacuFil Compact is compatible with all common extraction torches and can therefore be used flexibly. A key feature of the unit is the ability to select between manual and, optionally, automatic readjustment of the preselected volume flow. This is particularly important for extraction at the welding torch in order to optimally capture the welding fumes on the one hand and to avoid destroying the shielding gas cover on the other. This prevents pores in the weld seam. Now Kemper is going one step further with the mobile high-vacuum system: as of now, VacuFil Compact is also W3-certified. "Anyone who wants to use torch extraction is on the safe side with the VacuFil Compact," says Björn Kemper, CEO of Kemper GmbH. The reasons for this include the equipment features and the space-saving design. Thanks to its compactness, the mobile unit can easily be used at changing workplaces. Other options such as an automatic start/stop system, tool tray with cup holder, various suction hoses, and slot and funnel nozzles also make the unit easier to operate. The integrated side channel compressor ensures a permanently high suction power. Certification by the IFA opens up another area of application for the VacuFil Compact: Anyone in Germany who wants to weld stainless steels and return the air extracted in the process to the work area after filtering needs an extraction unit that has withstood testing by the IFA. This is because some carcinogenic hazardous substances are produced in the process, which must be safely captured and separated.

Thus, the device reaches an important milestone with the W3 certification of the IFA. With the W3 certificate, the test center awards a seal of quality to equipment that meets the highest standards. The VacuFil Compact high-vacuum extraction system fully complies with the clearly regulated requirements of DIN EN ISO 21904-1. In the test at the IFA, for example, it achieved a separation efficiency of 99.9 percent instead of the minimum 99 percent required by the standard. Companies can order the unit with either a storage filter or a cleanable filter. Depending on the equipment, an extraction rate of up to 170 m³/h is possible. Because the filter cartridge is mounted vertically, cleaning is particularly effective. In addition to the VacuFil Compact, virtually all other units in the Kemper portfolio are also certified with the W3 seal. Not only in Germany, but also internationally, the certification is considered an important quality feature.
