A total of three sessions will take place at the ZVO Surface Days as part of the Entrepreneur Forum 2025 "Management meets Surface": On the morning of September 25 and all day on September 26, various business management aspects relating to corporate management in electroplating and surface technology will be highlighted.

The "Management meets surface" business forum at the ZVO Surface Days 2025 will kick off on Thursday with a presentation on handling water-polluting substances and current assessment principles for retaining extinguishing water when operating systems. Another presentation will focus on the growing relevance of sustainability in the corporate context, show the specific requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive in the European Union and discuss the strategic implications for companies. This is followed by a presentation on online safety training for employees, as this represents a solution to many of the problems facing industry today: Lack of resources, cost pressure and increasing demands on occupational health and safety. Good safety standards not only prevent serious incidents such as fires or explosions, they also have a positive effect on motivation, absenteeism and employee turnover. On Friday, the focus will initially be on standardization and its relevance in the field of surface technology for metals. In addition to the working methods, current national and international standardization projects in the field of hydrogen embrittlement will be presented. Companies, especially SMEs, face the challenge of positioning their innovation ideas in a targeted manner and promoting them efficiently. Two proven funding programs, the Industrial Collective Research (IGF) and the Central Innovation Program for SMEs (ZIM), which offer tailor-made support, will be presented. The IGF enables pre-competitive research collaborations with scientific institutions, while the ZIM promotes market-oriented research and development projects of individual companies or joint projects with partners.

Another presentation will highlight current challenges and opportunities in training and further education for trainees as well as for training companies and vocational schools. The following presentation shows how important it is to deal with the topic of receivables protection. After all, customers who are thought to be good are often worse off than expected. In the automotive sector alone, credit insurers expect 30 to 40 percent of companies in Germany to become insolvent. Another presentation will deal with value creation. Because a sustainable and reproducible improvement in value creation is linked to many factors, he will show how the intelligent use of all operational resources can significantly improve the company's key figures, as this is the only way to shape the future. Every year, fires occur in electroplating plants, sometimes causing devastating damage. Not only electrical bath heaters, but also current contacts and the associated anode rails and other components are responsible for this. A presentation will show how such damage events can be greatly reduced by permanently measuring the temperature. The following presentation will focus on the topic of recruiting. Standardized recruiting processes no longer seem to meet current challenges. Recruiting does not end with the employment contract, but continues with personnel support - through development interviews, further training and social counseling. A best-practice example from the surface technology sector will be used to demonstrate how to build an employee brand that focuses on people. The concluding presentation at the "Management meets Surface" business forum shows how a mandatory company income guarantee can not only motivate employees, but also strengthen the employer brand.
