On the initiative of ZVO 2.0, the organization of young entrepreneurs within the ZVO, and Martin Müller, Aurolia, a meeting was held on 28 June 2024 with the FDP working group "Mittelstand und Handwerk" in the Bundestag in Berlin, where the ZVO was able to address important industry issues.

ZVO CEO Jörg Püttbach, Lukas Henningsen, Caroline Hehl, Jan Zeschky, Henri Holder, Patrik Schmalriede and Andreas Scholz from ZVO 2.0 took part in the meeting on behalf of ZVO, while Manfred Todtenhausen (MDB), Gerald Ullrich (MDB), Carl-Julius Cronenberg (MDB), Friedhelm Boginski (MDB) and Nicole Bauer (MDB) were among those present from the FDP parliamentary group. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWK) also sent two high-ranking representatives, Dr. Henning Wins and Christiane von Trotha, as a proactive response to a letter from ZVO 2.0 to Robert Habeck.

With their presentation, Püttbach and Henningsen were able to clearly demonstrate that electroplating technology is the key industry for all megatrends of the future. The participants were particularly impressed by the video produced by ZVO 2.0, which was played on site. Püttbach described his view of Germany as a business location from an entrepreneurial perspective and the real impact of EU bureaucracy and regulations such as IED 2.0, BREF and REACH on jobs. Henningsen made it clear how much the member companies of the ZVO and their skilled workers are being held back by over-regulation and that Germany is becoming massively less attractive as a business location - even though local electroplating technology is indispensable for the megatrends and the associated supply chains. Her presentation was met with great interest by the participants, so much so that - despite a follow-up appointment in the plenary hall of the Bundestag - the event ran a few minutes over, which speaks for the quality of the event. There were also numerous follow-up questions and contacts, particularly with the BMWK.
