A successful restart for Surface Technology Germany

The Surface Technology Germany trade fair got off to a successful new start in Stuttgart from June 21 to 23, 2022. After the 2020 trade fair had to be canceled due to coronavirus, there was now a sense of cautious optimism among the around 3,000 visitors and 220 exhibitors.
The exhibitors at this year's Surface Technology Germany presented their innovations, solutions and products as well as the latest trends at the surface technology industry get-together. Hendrik Engelking, Global Director Surface Technology at Deutsche Messe AG, was pleased with the successful restart and praised the high quality of the trade visitors: "It was a successful re-launch. Exhibitors and visitors are very satisfied with how the event went. We are very satisfied with the number of visitors under the given conditions, especially as the quality was extremely high." The trade fair focused on current topics such as climate and environmentally friendly processes, resource efficiency and sustainability.
After the long enforced break, everyone was relieved to be able to meet again in person at a trade fair. At the same time, the trade fair also became more international, with the proportion of foreign exhibitors increasing by as much as 4 percent. After Germany, the strongest visitor countries were Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Austria, India, the Netherlands, France and Slovenia. For the first time, the event recorded a 100 percent share of trade visitors, one in three of whom came from top management and one in four from department head level. The joint stand of the German Surface Technology Association (ZVO) also made an important contribution, with around 60 companies providing an impressive presentation of electroplating technology. The exhibitors at the joint stand "Process Chain Surface Technology" and the Wotech joint stand were also very satisfied. The Surface Technology Germany specialist forum was well attended on all days with numerous specialist presentations and as the venue for the presentation of the Stuttgart Innovation Award "The Surface" by Fraunhofer IPA.
