GAV becomes the Research Association for Hot Dip Galvanizing

The former Galvanizing Joint Committee (GAV) is now operating under the new name of the Hot Dip Galvanizing Research Association. The renaming brings the association's purpose, research in the field of hot-dip galvanizing, into focus.
With a new name and a sharpened profile, the former German Galvanizing Joint Committee (Gemeinschaftsausschuss Verzinken - GAV) is entering the future as the Hot Dip Galvanizing Research Association (Forschungsvereinigung Feuerverzinken). The renaming brings the actual core of the association - application-oriented, future-oriented research along the entire hot-dip galvanizing value chain - clearly into focus and makes the mission and benefits for members and the public recognizable at a glance. "The Forschungsvereinigung Feuerverzinken stands for future-oriented, application-oriented research with direct benefits for our member companies. The new name makes this claim clear and creates a clear, modern and recognizable brand architecture within our association system," explains Stefan Neese, Chairman of the Board of the Forschungsvereinigung Feuerverzinken.
Forschungsvereinigung Feuerverzinken conducts research with practical relevance
The Hot Dip Galvanizing Research Association initiates, supports, coordinates and promotes projects along the entire hot dip galvanizing value chain. The focus is on application-oriented issues from operational practice - such as process optimization, material development, innovative applications, resource efficiency or sustainability. In close cooperation with research institutes, universities and companies, practical results are produced that flow directly into the further development of processes, products and new applications. The research association is also a member of the Alliance for Industry and Research (AiF) and is thus actively involved in shaping the overarching research landscape and the political research network.
With its new name, the research association fits into the strategic brand world of the federal association. Under the common umbrella of "Feuerverzinken", the Bundesverband Feuerverzinken, the Institut Feuerverzinken and the Forschungsvereinigung Feuerverzinken will in future operate as a closely networked system for communication, knowledge transfer and securing the future of the industry.
