Corrosion protection: Surface finishing from Nord for drive technology

Nord Drivesystems provides a wide range of aluminum drive solutions for the packaging industry. For almost all of these drive components, the company also offers the nsd tupH surface finishing. This makes the drive technology particularly corrosion-resistant and hard-wearing.
With nsd tupH, Nord Drivesystems offers a special process that makes the surfaces of drives with aluminum housings particularly corrosion-resistant, similar to stainless steel. This is not a coating, but a refinement based on an electrolytic process that creates a protective layer permanently bonded to the base material. This means that nothing can chip or flake off. Drives with the nsd tupH surface finish are largely insensitive to acids and alkalis and are easy to clean.
Nord offers nsd tupH for a wide range of industries. The surface finish is not only ideal for use in hygiene-critical areas in the food, beverage or packaging industries, as well as in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries - but also for applications in environments with extreme humidity, such as car washes or waterworks, as well as in marine and coastal areas. "The surface finish nsd tupH has already proven its quality in numerous practical applications in food and pharmaceutical plants," reports Jörg Niermann, Head of Marketing. "But in a company that processes seafood and shellfish, the technology has proven itself under particularly harsh conditions." There, salt water in particular puts a strain on the drive components, so that the previous cast iron versions had to be replaced after one to two years. The units protected by nsd tupH have now been in use there for many years.
