Peters and Unimicron have a long-standing partnership: Unimicron manufactures PCB panels for the global markets and relies on the Elpemer solder resist from Peters - something the two companies from the Lower Rhine have now celebrated.

"Together high-tech from the Lower Rhine - thank you and with a cheerful "Good Lack" - that's what it says in black and white on every bottle of Peters-Kölsch beer that Sven Kramer presented to the staff of Unimicron Germany GmbH. In addition to two crates of the top-fermented beer, the Product Manager presented two cartons of the famous Prinzenrolle in Geldern to the circuit board manufacturer - a gift from the company. "The deBeukelaer cookie has always been the second best product from Kempen, behind our Elpemer solder mask," says Sven Kramer with a grin in front of the assembled team from the Unimicron solder mask department. The watering of the great teamwork between the Kempen lacquer manufacturer and the Geldern PCB manufacturer is of course postponed until after work. Instead, many Unimicron employees take the opportunity to bite into the sweet prince cookie during the shift change. There are reasons for the social gathering in Unimicron Park. The company relies on the quality of Peters solder resist from the Elpemer 2467 SM-DG product family for the protective coating of its printed circuit boards. "The varnish really does meet our expectations," says Unimicron department manager Sascha van Düren, who expresses his thanks for the Keks-Kölsch gesture. "You can rely on it," emphasizes process engineer Jonas Poschen from the Engineering department.

Peters solder resist impresses industrial customers worldwide

Sven Kramer, Head of Application Technology at Peters, is pleased to hear this. The chemical engineer refers to the simple, fast and precise processability, even when depicting the finest lacquer structures using the direct exposure method. The Elpemer photo-structurable solder resist is well on the way to impressing industrial customers worldwide with its performance. "From Kempen, you only have to drive 20 kilometers north up the Lower Rhine to find Unimicron, a company that claims the advantages of Elpemer for itself," says Sven Kramer, who has been working at Peters for more than half of his 59 years. At Holländer See in the south of Geldern, they now know that the final properties of factors such as elasticity, insulation and mechanical and chemical quality stand up to any comparison with other paints.

Long-standing partnership between Peters and Unimicron

The two companies from the Lower Rhine region set standards in their partnership. Unimicron manufactures between 2,000 and 2,500 PCB panels for the global markets every day. In addition to the automotive sector, which has always been a flagship, renewable energies/solar and industrial applications have become equally important. The good relationship between the company, which was founded in 1945, and Peters dates back to the time when Unimicron still traded under the name Ruwel. The founders Fritz Stahl in Geldern and Werner Peters in Kempen are generally regarded as pioneers of PCB technology. It has been a stable axis ever since. At the time, Ruwel mass-produced the first printed circuit board in Europe, which is regarded as the initial spark for rapid industrial development. This circuit board for Metz radios can still be admired today in the Deutsches Museum in Munich. At the end of 2010, Ruwel was taken over by one of the largest PCB companies in the world, Unimicron Technology Corp. Unimicron Technology invested in the company and provided a boost to innovation. "Unimicron has made a great development, which we at Peters wholeheartedly support due to our shared tradition and entrepreneurial conviction," says Ralf Schwartz, Managing Director at Peters. "Cheers."
