Lamilux wins German Design Award with UV-resistant GRP top layer
The innovative gelcoat technology Lamilux Sunsation has convinced a renowned jury for the third time: The German Innovation Award was followed by the AVK Innovation Award and now the German Design Award also crowns the world's most UV-resistant GRP topcoat with the "Special Mention" in the category "Excellent Product Design".
With Lamilux Sunsation, Lamilux Composites, a manufacturer of fiber-reinforced plastics, presents what the company claims is the world's most UV-resistant GRP topcoat. Extreme color and gloss retention and no color difference when peeling off stickers on surfaces: Lamilux Sunsation sets new standards in the quality standard of glass-fiber reinforced plastics. In artificial weathering tests, for example in accordance with DIN EN ISO 4892-2, Lamilux Sunsation demonstrates absolute durability. Even after 15 to 20 years of real weathering, Lamilux Sunsation still shines with rich colors and maximum gloss.
Lamilux Sunsation significantly reduces the need for maintenance of outdoor applications. This is because surfaces that do not become dull or lose their gloss do not need to be waxed for preventive protection or subsequent touch-up. In figures, this means 90 percent less effort and cost for waxing due to the use of the product. For this remarkable design achievement, the German Design Award honors Lamilux Composites with the Special Mention in the category "Excellent Product Design".
